Have my Official Pathology Results

Benign Results - follicular adenoma arising from chronic thyroiditis consistent with Hashimoto.  Goodness, didn't even know I had chronic thyroiditis. Primary doctor has been treating my thyroid condition, now it's time to see an Endo.

So the surgeon took off the surgi-strips - and on my profile I am very pleased to share with everyone a photo of my scar one week after surgery (that's if anyone is interested in looking :-)

The nurse wasn't much help in giving suggestions on how to cover the scar up except to say to wear alot of scarfs :)

I think you will be OK if you reapply sunscreen as it wears off while you are hanging by the pool or finished swimming.

I'm so happy for you that received benign test results!!  YEAH!

Your scar looks great.  I'm two months out from TT and my scar is definetly more noticable than that still!   It's still much better than I thought it would be, but it's a little redder than yours.

You mentioned your surgeon's nurse recommended covering the scar in summer to keep it out of the sun.  I just posted question about this as I'm going to Florida tomorrow for a week and was wondering about sun exposure on the scar.  Did the nurse give suggestions on how to cover it up?  I'm wondering how you do that when you're swimming and hanging out by the pool?

I'm going to put 55 Neutrogena Broad Spectrum on the scar because ChitChat and another member highly recommended it.

Not using anything yet on my scar. I was so pleasantly surprised to see that it looks so good. As I wrote on KelDC's post, surgeon's nurse recommended silicone gel. She also told me to cover it up in the summer because the sun will darken the scar.
