Heart medication problems

I am on Crestor, Atenolol, Cartia and Digoxin and Synthroid. I had Tachicardia and Atrial Fib.
I have symptoms of shortness of breath, a dry cough, extreme fatigue, short term memory loss, extreme joint pain and stiffness, poor balance, weakness at times, vision gets dark at times, neck and throat soreness.  I'm going to my doctor because I can't function with these symptoms.  Can you tell me which meds can cause this and what other meds I could take.  Thank you.

I use Atenolol and Multaq to prevent atrial fibrillation. Last year I had persistent af for six months. With Multaq and electric cardioversion the sinus rhythm resumed. During af I got bisoprolol (not good, stopped), Digoxin and Dilmin (not good, stopped). Digoxin and atenolol were left until  I got Multaq a week before electric cardioversion. Atenolol has been very good for me to prevent tachycardia for tens of years. Most betablockers are not good for me. Calcium blockers are not good either, eg. Verapamil is forbidden.

I don't know Crestor and Cartia. Do you know to what group of medicines they belong?

Now I have been without af over nine months.I have decreased the daily Multaq to minimal 200 mg. Atenolol is going on. First I had Marevan but now I use "children's aspirin".

I have had many same symptoms as you have. I also had breathing problems. They were partly because of af, but maybe also because of gall stones. The cause is not clear. Causes of af may be infections (sinusites, immune deficiency) and electrolyte disturbances. I have often hypernatremia and hypercalcemia. One reason may be overmedication of hypothyroidism. Since the onset of af I have taken 2.5 pills of Erfa Thyroid vs 3 before af. Before af I felt excellent.

Present symptoms may be due to other diseases. I may have hypeparathyroidism. I am waiting for FESS operation ( chronic sinusitis). Today going to a neurol spec because of trembling of upper back and neck. I also have problems in my lungs.

Synthroid can cause all the symptoms you mention (except, to my knowledge, the vision problems).  However, most of those symptoms could also be the result of undermedication of Synthroid (i.e. you are still hypo and need a Synthroid increase or change to other meds).

Atenolol slows your HR and lowers your BP, so that is not likely the cause of your tachy, in fact, it should be helping to control it.

Please post your most recent thyroid labs along with their reference ranges which vary lab to lab so have to come from your own lab report.  With those, we might be able to be able to comment more confidently about what's going on as far as your thyroid is concerned.

I don't know enough about the other drugs you are taking to comment.

It sounds like a visit to your doctor is definitely in order.
