Help ! Can't find Armour Thyroid ,almost out of meds !

if you guys remember, my dr only has me on 90mg of Armour , and I have been feelin' terrible the last couple months and now my TSH IS 22.0 ,...of course she didn't check for free T3/T4 . What I'm a little upset about is that she told me she was going to let me try the Nature Throid , well ,..she changed her mind and she prescribed me 120 mg of Armour and 10mg of Adderall  and sd we'll see what happens in 3 months . She sd she she didn't feel comfortable with the Nature Throid until she can do some more research on it .

Synthroid is only T4 synthetic bio-identical hormone - ONLY T4 not T3

Armour is combo T3 - T4 not bio-identical thyroid hormone but has natural T3 in it.

If your not responding to Synthroid and developed symptoms - you should return to Armour prior to adrenal fatigue kicking in.

My dr. changed me from Amour to synthroid (the generic) back in oct.  I felt worse, then she hcanged my amount and I got to feeling like myself again for about a month. Now I feel worse than ever but my test show my level is normal. Could it be the synthroid giving me trouble. I have taken thyroid med's for atleast 7 years but had always taken Armour and never had any problems. any insight much appreciated.

NT is just the same Westhroid. They are the same. The maker is the same.
Years ago some of the ingredients were different. But then they decided to go with the same ingredients. They did not change the name all together to NT because a lot of people was used to Westhroid which was the first name they used. They are identical.

I will have to check around and see if I can find a pharmacy to compound it for me . I will go with the Naturethroid if it is just as good . I have also heard of westhroid too , or is westhroid the same thing as naturethroid ?

Not sure if you are looking for compound information but here is a very good source to talk over with your doctor.

MDcustomsRx - very - very qualified knowledegable pharmacists I know and they are very workable with any doctor request.

Hint!! - if you go the route of compounding - eliminate ANY MCC filler by-product in the capsules.

Suggest - ginger - acidophillus or olive oil as the only filler used for the USP thyroid mix.

- it is pig thyroid like Armour, but is not the same. Some like it , some dont. Whatever works for you is what you need, sometimes that means experimenting.

Call your doctor - get a script for Naturethroid and call clarks.

Call every pharma in the phone book. Seriously. Someplace has it. They still make it, but in limited supplies.

Several here take Canadian ERFA brand thyroid. Its like the old Armour before they reformulated it. It takes several weeks to get it from Canada once your doctor faxes a script. Google ERFA thyroid. Northwest phamacy . com is one place.
