Hello,
A while back my company did a free blood analysis for its employees. Mine came back with some concern about my thyroid. Turns out I have a consistently elevated free t3, but TSH, and t4 are consistently normal (3 tests in 1 year).
TSH: 1.21 (0.2--4.5)
T4: 1.2 (0.8--1.8)
T3: 5.6 (2.3--4.2)
I just visited an endocrinologist who said she's never seen anything like this, as the normal combination is a low TSH with a high free t3, and there's nothing to be done, despite my having a few mild to medium symptoms (e.g. insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, hard hb, muscle twitches, et. al.).
I'm wondering if I should heed her advice and monitor my TSH level or find a doctor who will treat me for my symptoms.
Any thoughts and insight would be greatly appreciated.
