How long did it take to feel better (recent hashimoto's diagnosis)

In early June I was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto's by an endo.  She upped the dose I was on and switched me to synthroid, no more generics.  I was taking 125, she upped me to 150.  In the first week I felt the best I had in years.  Then it was back to how I felt.  6 weeks later, I had a blood test, not much improvement, so she added 25 mg/3x a week.  6 more weeks, no improvement, now I'm taking 175 mg. daily as of yesterday.

I'm so sick of the symptoms, especially the exhaustion and fatigue!  I just feel like a big old lump of clay or something!

I see my endo in person again Oct. 6, but I am wanting the light turned on at the end of the tunnel.  Does anyone care to share how long it took them to get the right dose?

Nope wondering that myself. I heard some omega 3. Its frusterating. But since taking my armour has become softer:) nails are starting to grow again! I felt good for the firs week on this, I just think I need a slight increase and to see my endo!

I too was diagnosed about 3-4 months ago. I just felt terrible, run down, muscle and joint aches. Felt like i was getting very old. My doctor upped my Armour, put me on Iodine drops with Rehmania herbal complex. I have added calcium, vitamin D, zinc and magnesium complex. Also Glutamine in my water once a day.

Amazingly I am feeling like my old self. Not a ball of fire but no more joint or muscle aches and much more positive. I wonder if we just lack a bunch of vitamins because our body is trying so hard to function and it takes everything out of us.

Still have hair loss. Wish I could stop that, any ideas?

I too feel the same way. Was diagnosed 2 years ago but got really bad after I had my son in November. Taking 125 mcg Levothyroxine didn't help. Dr just switched me to 125 Synthroid yesterday. Hoping the meds will help. I am seeing a new endo soon so hopefully she will have some answers. Good luck!

Cynnieb4 - To make you feel better, I just went to rheum this week to get re-tested for lupus and RA...negative. I am good. So the joint pain and other symptoms have to be related to this thyroid thing. That is a good thing though, at least I know where we need to concentrate. Heads up...and I hope you get the good news I did!

I was just diagnosed as well. I am tired of feeling this way too. i couldn't do the synthroid made me feel like a yo yo. MIght of been a conversion problem who knows. I have been out of whack for sometime. Make sure she checks you for any vitamins you may need and rule out any other disorders. We usually have more than one. Sad to say my doc is checking me for arthritis and lupus next week. Just hold on, maybe try something else if that doesn't seem to relax you, i switched to armour, and am feeling more relaxed. Also get your adrenals checked. I don't see my endo for another month:(
