You gals are GREAT! thanks for the support!
Hey - not worth the fact that you want to kill this cancer so you don't have to go through the LID again. Just dream of cheese - I know that I had brie and gouda on the brain for weeks on end.
PS I'm picturing the look on your family's face when you threw that pizza away!
I understand! At least every time I have had to do the LID, my kids have been away at school and my husband works a LOT. That way, I wasn't around a lot of non LID food. The hardest part was when I went to Toronto for a special occasion and had to be on LID. Everyone else could enjoy the restaurants, but not me. I made up for it when I was done though!

I was never placed on a LID diet - per my lousy endo that ordered the RAI
SO what that did to me was throw my whole treatment off.
To this day I have no idea how much my gland is dead and I believe I still have live tissue
I was in horrible pain and sickness for many years after
so don't cheat.
I guess I'm just getting myself worked up because even though I know the diet will end soon maybe a few weeks, last year after the R-131 I had no taste at all for about 2 months and then it was slow to come back. Everything tasted like licking a metal cookie sheet. I didn't enjoy my favorite foods till at about 6 months after the ablation. when I was writing the post my ever loving but clueless husband was cooking up a big pizza for himself and the kids and the aroma that filled the house was unbearable. I lost it! I went in the kitchen, pulled the pizza from the oven and threw it in the trash. My husband had to take my shocked kids out to eat just so I would not have to smell it!
Well, my doc told me to think of it as LOW iodine, not NO iodine. I followed that stupid diet pretty faithfully but I will admit that towards the end I did eat one french fry and a possible dorito! And my RAI treatment was very effective so I think if you freak out and eat one piece of cheese it's not going to make it all for nothing. I remember having dreams of the enormous pizza I was going to order when I was off the diet. Then when the time came where I could have the junk again, I didn't want it. I think it's true what they say that once something is out of your diet for long enough you really do stop craving it.
If you don't follow the LID , the RAI will not work. Your appointments are probably already confirmed, so you will have to change everything. Just try to hang in there and it will soon be done.
