Is there a good site to vet endocrinologists?

I've been hypothyroid for twenty years.  The past two or three years, I've had symptoms that my dosage isn't right: hair loss, low basal temperature, weight gain with no change in diet or exercise habits, slow digestion.  My doctor said my test is in the normal range.  So, I need a new doctor, but I want to see someone who isn't just looking to see if the results are in the normal range.  I don't want to settle for normal range because normal range isn't working for me.  I feel rather awful. I've felt better in the past and I want to feel that way again.  I want to feel optimum.  Is there a site which will tell me a doctor's approach to thyroid health?

How about your thyroid related test results and reference ranges?

Latest test results: TSH-2.51,   Vit. D - 32 ng/ml,    ferritin - 51,     Vit B12 - 886.  My doctor tests only TSH. He is satisfied with all of those numbers. I'm currently taking Vit D and B12 supplements.
What do you mean by thyroid doctor? I thought by looking for an Endo I would be getting a doctor whose specialty included thyroid health.

No, there is no such site.  Nor do you necessarily need an Endo.  You just need a good thyroid doctor that will adjust your Free T4 and Free T3 as needed to relieve hypo symptoms.  Please post your thyroid related test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.

In addition, hypo patients are frequently deficient in Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin.  If not tested for those you should do so and then supplement to optimize.  D should be at least 50 ng/ml, B12 in the upper parr of its range, and ferritin should be at least 100.

If you will tell us your location, perhaps we can give you the name of a doctor that has been recommended by other thyroid patients.

I'm not sure I have all those numbers, I am taking B12 supplements. I'm in the Portland, Oregon area.
