Itching!

Does anyone else out there experience general itching?  I'd say it's worse on my lower legs, below the knee (shin, calf, etc), behind my knees, armpits, and breasts.  It itches so bad, that I will scratch it raw.  There are no visible bumps until after I have started scratching a bit. Very strange, but it's quite annoying.  I have issues with eczema, and I have steroid cream, but it's a small tube, I can't use it everywhere. I"m not sure what to do about this.  Any ideas?

I am sorry, I should have specified.... I do have Graves... and antibodies for Hashi's as well.  I'm currently on 100 mcg's of Synthroid.  I am due for my levels to be checked, so maybe they are a bit low.  It seems worse before/during menstruation, and it drives me insane and I literally make myself bleed...I use Cerave lotion, but maybe I need to kick it up a notch and apply more often.
Thanks to all for the input!

As toni said , I too use Benadryl Allergy and Gold Bond Lotion, together they resolve the issue. And as gimel stated thyroid does cause dry skin, so we all have had it at one time or another. Best Wishes FTB4

My daughter was scratching so much I call her scruffy the dog. She also has eczema. It worst in winter. My husband bought aveeno oatmeal bath and lotion. We moisturizer her twice a day and we also put Vaseline on her. We give her Benadryl. She is no longer itching. Try these methods and also post your levels for your thyroid. It could be hormonal.

There are lots of potential causes, but since you posted on the thyroid Forum I wondered if you have ever been diagnosed as hypothyroid?
