Med change caused 5# weight gain

I was on .001 levothyroxine for 4 weeks when I was diagnosed with hypothyroid.  My TSH level went from 6 to .009 so my doctor lowered my dose to .088... since I ended up hyper... I was thrilled to have lost 5 of the 30 pounds I had gained before being diagnosed...now being on this lower level.... I have regained the 5# I had lost... Is this normal?  Can such a small change in medication cause such drastic changes in my metabolism?

THanks... should I stick it out with this level of levothyroxine or should I ask my doctor to increase it back...I know being hyper is not good, but this weight gain is driving me crazy!!!  WHat are your thoughts about armour??  If I stay at this dosage do you think evenutally my system will be able to lose weight?

From my experience, yes small changes can cause drastic changes, till body adjust and stabilizes.

Good luck !!
