Low TSH Normal Free T4 Levels

Hello Dr.,

I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism 10 years ago and had synthroid adjusted over the years to keep levels within normal range.

I am now 35 yeas of age and trying to start a family and I currently take .75 mcg of Synthroid daily.  I had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks in December and my doctor(OBG) ordered blood work to check my Thyroid and the test came back with the results that show my TSH low at .270, but my Free T4 levels were normal at 1.27.   She wants me to consult with my Family Practioner as to a course of treament for the low TSH.

My question is could my current level of TSH cause problems with conception/ and or carrying a child to term?   Also would this lead to complications during a pregnancy or be dangerous to the developing fetus as far as birth defects?

Thank you in advance for you answer!

Actually, there are no doctors on this particular forum.  Go to the left hand side of the forum page and you can post your question to Dr. Lupo.  Your TSH shows you are very hyperthyroid.  Go to www.allthyroid.org and you might be able to get some answers or keep watching this forum.  Someone may have good answers, too.
