Hi all!
It has been a while since I posted here...right after I got back from Houston (MD Anderson) I got pretty sick with a sinus infection and cold.
I spent an entire day at MD anderson doing test after test and I have some results but not others yet. This is the most incredible, most organized place I have ever been. I really recommend it for anyone with a cancer dx as they are one of the leading hospitals in the country for Thyroid Cancers. I loved the docs, the testing process and they really make you feel like you are in good hands.
So, I did find out that I have paresis of my right vocal cord. That means that it is not entirely paralyzed but pretty close. It vibrates just a bit while the other one has full movement. There are exercises that they want me to do to hopefully try to get it working again but there is no guarantee. My Ultra Sound showed quite a bit more lymph nodes that looked like they could be cancerous. That was not really a big surprise to me since they already thought there would be more. What I haven't found out yet is if it has spread to any other areas. They are waiting to do those tests when I go back in six months. I am already scheduled to go back on june 15th when I will do many more tests and also more surgery. I really loved all my doctors there and feel like I am in great hands there. In the meantime, I will do radiation sometime in January in between. Then, its just a waiting game until June.
So that is the short nutshell version but I wanted to keep you all posted. Thanks again to all of you for your well wishes. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season!
