all right then ...will follow this regime .will definitely get back to you guys ..
Yes, that should be a good amount. I would do that and see if your Free T3 increases proportionally to your Free T4. If your body is not adequately converting T4 to t3, then you could add some T3.
I would not just double the iron. Maybe go up approx. 50% of current dose and give it time to build up. Also a good idea to take magnesium and Vitamin C along with the iron to prevent stomach issues.
should i increase Lthyroxin 25 in additon to 50 or i should add t3 to L thyrox 50.what is a better option ? should i double my daily iron intake ie 80*2 per day ?
thanykou for your useful tips
If your ferritin level is indicative of the 80 mg daily supplement, then you need to further increase it. Ferritin should be about 70 min. And of course increase your thyroid med.
As goolarra mentioned there is room to increase your thyroid meds. Your free T4 should be at the middle of its range, at minimum. Free T3 should be in the upper third of its range for many people, or as necessary to relieve hypo symptoms, which includes hair loss. At this point there is no indication that you are not converting T4 to t3 adequately, so an increase in your T4 med should be the first step.
In addition Vitamin D should be about 55-60, B12 in the upper end of its range and ferritin about 70 minimum. So you need to supplement as necessary to optimize those levels. Low D and ferritin can adversely affect how thyroid hormone is metabolized. Also low ferritin can cause hair loss.
How much iron are you supplementing daily?
I was wondering if adding t3 can help in hairloss .any suggestions please ?
Perhaps you have to increase your supplement.
hi
big thanks for quick reply .Actually when I read about other people suffering with hypothyroid ,i can see they face multiple issues .But luckily ,i never had such issues other than i feel tired sometimes ,like i dont want to exercise and i dont want to do household and i have to push myself to do that .I am on VIt D3 20000 (weekly one ) since more than an year .My vit d3 was always under 40 ...any absorption issues ? same is the case with ferritin ...though i take supplement it doesnt go up
Your thyroid labs look pretty good. FT4 is at 39% of range, and 50% is the target for FT4. FT3 is at 52% of range, which is in the upper half recommended. So, there is some room there for a little increase.
However, I think the really issue here is your ferritin and vitamin D. Those are both too low still in terms of the proper metabolism of thyroid hormone. If D and ferritin aren't present in sufficient quantities in cells, thyroid hormones can't get in to do their work. Low iron can also cause hair loss.
Do you have other hypo symptoms?
