I had my TT 11 days ago. Part of the parathyroid was removed and replaced. Also there was a tear in my esophagus that was repaired. I'm home after being in ICU, for the tear and low calcium. At this point, I'm not sure what is normal to feel and what I need to be concerned about. My surgeon and Endo both felt I should wait to take any Thyroid medication, until the biopsy results come back. I have no thyroid, and no meds, so I feel weak, tired, and like I'm moving through jello. Everything takes great effort. My throat still hurts, it feels closed off, like a water faucet at quarter speed. There's a huge lump in my throat. And of course my voice is hoarse. I want some sense of normalcy, when can this be expected? My surgeon said I could go back to work in ten days, but I will not be able to if I feel this bad, I'm an elementary teacher.
