Nuclear Thyroid Scan & Uptake

Should Repliva 21/7 be stopped prior to a nuclear thyroid scan & uptake?  Should jewelry (earrings) be removed prior?  Would the scan/uptake be affected if they weren't removed?

I understand Reliver is a medication for your liver and it would be wise to ask the Radiologist BEFORE the scan.
Try telephoning the Nuclear Department prior to the uptake scan.
All jewellery must be removed as the RAUI is an x-ray and you will be asked to remove them prior to the uptake scan.
I left mine at home and also called the Nuclear Department to ask if I -131(radioactive iodine) was being used for the uptake scan or I- 123 (which does the same thing but is a milder form).
I has I-123 used and felt no different after the Uptake Scan.

I think a lot of people go in 'blind' not knowing what is going to happen which in turn causes a lot of 'mental tiredness'.
In other words, worrying over nothing, fear of the unknown.
The more you know, the more you are prepared and in control of the situation.
The hardest thing about the uptake scan is laying there very still for up to an hour.
Some have pills they have to take before the uptake scan, some have an injection and then dont 20 mins later.
I had the injection.
And I was fine.
