Opinions on doctors visit.

Hello,

I went to a doctor's appointment yesterday. I had a previous lab done and the new doctor viewed the paperwork.

She said because of my odd LH reading I need to have an MRI done to see if I have a pitutiary tumor growing.

I am hypothyroid from RAI and taking meds. My TSH was 1.74 and she believes I may need more meds to feel better.

Do you think I have something to worry about with a possiblility of a tumor?

Hi there and welcome! :)
I do agree that you should not worry until you need to....you don't need to stress yourself.
Did your doctor run a Free T4 and Free T3 test with the TSH as well? You really need these as well to get a complete look at what is going on. Also....most people feel best with a TSH around 1.0 so there is a little room for improvement there. But without the Free tests, you don't know if you are having further thyroid issues or pituitary. You definately need further testing and I would highly suggest it be from an endocrinologist who specializes in these two areas.
I wish you the best and hope you find peace....both areas are fixable so try not to worry too much! :)

A TSH of 1.74 is classified as normal.
Get the MRI done and take it from there.
My motto.......dont worry about something that may never happen and worry about what you CAN control and not what you CANT.
Good Luck :)
