I wasn't going to post this yet - but after thinking about it on another post I read - maybe it IS best NOW to look at this an an option.

I was looking at a weekend in August 09 to gather Med Help thyroid members in Chicago IL.  Nothing huge or eliberate.

Are there people here interested in doing something like that?

I figure Chicago is smack dab middle ground for most people and depending on the response - may make for good accomadations.

So - what do you think? Is this something I should look into further?

Count me in. I wanted to have the chicken club come to my house as Oklahoma City is REALLY central (lol)  a back in 2007. but I will come to Chicago if thats what it takes to meet yall.

Deb, I read your post anout not being able to fly.  if you ever get it figured out please let me know.  My daughter moved from Texas to Boston and I can't make the flight.  It's a terrible feeling.

Stell, I guess you can tell that's a no for me making it to Chicago although it sounds like fun.  I am brand new to this group so I don't know anyone and noone knows me anyway.  :(

Stella if I didnt have a fear of flying, I would be there in heartbeat with all the Bushfires going on here in Melbourne at the moment!
Maybe next year...who knows? lol
I have beaten quite a few demons the last 2 years....flying is another one on my 'to do' list lol

From Ireland a ticket to America alone would cost me over 1000euro... Hense why I never went to America!!! But if ye want to meet in Dublin, Ireland then I would make the 4-5 hours drive to meet ye wonderful people.... How about it, August in county Dublin, Ireland.... We can drink Guinness/vodka and have the good oul Irish crack... LOL Good Idea though!!

If it's feasible at the time I'd love to go.  It would be nice to meet others.  Plus it would fulfill the personal obsession I'm having with wanting to visit Chicago (and not just the airport).  I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing but for some reason it's been there in my head lately.

What a great idea.  I would love to meet my fellow thyroidians, however my job is suppose to close in June.  I don't know if I can, but I am surely gonna try.  
I have to wait on my job issue.
