Good luck to both of you. Keep posting on your progress.
Thank you to all,
Was at doctor's & hospital doing pre-ops yesterday. I live in central Texas but am going to Houston for everything (best doctors - also where I lived for 20 yrs.).
Thypatient - thanks for understanding how confusing this is. And no - I never heard anything about paras be4. Check net for info, some very scarey, some helpful.
Good luck to all.
my gp knows, and i think she might talk to my endo. i think that's why she told me to go see him, so hopefully i will get some help!
thanks for your help thypatient!
Does your dr know you get sick like that after taking in calcium? Above you said he's saying the adenoma's not active, but it sound's like it is. Hope you get answers at your next dr's appt.
thankyou texgem for replying, i will keep trying to find out whats wrong. im hoping they'll do something about it though - im too sick to do anything much at the moment and if i take calcium tablets or eat food with calcium it makes me very sick, so obviously cant go on like this!
i really hope you dont have cancer, good luck with your surgeries!
Just wanted to wish you good luck with that surgery.
I had the same thing. Boy, I can relate to how things move fast and yet we've lived with symptoms for a long time. It's a weird disease; the unknown is confusing. I don't know about you but I'd never heard of any of this before diagnosis. Plus, I have yet to met another in person who's had the same thing.
I hope you get relief soon after. Good luck.

Been having alot of leg cramps (anywhere from toes to upper thigh) - that's why they have me on K-Tabs. It's hard to say if my mouth feeling like cotton it due to para or Blood Pressure meds.
Keep after them to find the problem - after several yrs. someone noticed that the numbers didn't add up. Won't know til after both surgeries how much damage is really done. Doctors' keep hinting about cancer since this has been going on for some time.
I've had nose bleeds, mig. headaches, dizziness also. They seem to attach alot of my medical issues to Parathyroid.
Good Luck to all you are going thru this.
hi,
i am not sure if i have a parathyroid problem, but i think i might. i have an adenoma, but last time i saw the endocrinologist he said it was not active. am seeing him again in a couple weeks to ask what he thinks is wrong with me. texgem and steph did you get muscle twitching? it is driving me crazy! all over my body! have a fair few other symptoms too - need to drink 9litres of water a day and going to the toilet all the time...
texgem i hope your surgery goes well!

So far it appears to be the upper left para that is affected. They are doing surgery because it is affecting my Blood Pressure (taking 4 tabs a day to keep it about 140/90) and Calcium is causing alot of stomach problems, brusing just from a bump. Also calcium is collecting on my ribs - will have surgery 4 wks later to remove those tumor which will also be checked for cancer. This site is answering some of my questions. Thank you! Jewell
I went through some of the same things. Are they removing all or half? Also is it cancer, if you know. Why are they doing surgery? I had mine out 6 months ago. Just wondering about those things so i can help better if I can.
