Thanks so much for the detailed reply to my question. Here are my comments for yours.

1)My Dr only tested for TSH and she said after seeing the TSH result . My TSH is fine. I left a message to her to test for FreeT3, Free T4 and Antibodies. She said she is not willing to do these tests but because of my 2 messages she gave the order for Free T3 and Free T4.

2) My Symptoms: Cold Hands and feet, fatigue, exertion, no energy, exhaustion all these with out doing much work, tingling in hands and feet. All of these symptoms from past 4 years. weight gain , unable to loose feet 1 lb of weight from past 1 year, severe constipation ( found a soln for this atleast)

My Dr saw the results and my results are normal she said  and she said I don't have any Thyroid issues and she is giving medication for Anxiety. I am already takeing medication for Depression. I having hard time to find a DR who can prescribe meds based on symptoms.  In 2010 I also saw Endo. She said I am perfectly alright. My Dr's are not listening to symptoms. Seeing Dr is also expensive. Is there a way that can get thyroid meds without prescription ( starter dosage)

Are you currently on a thyroid replacement medication?  If so, which one, what dosage and for how long have you been on it?

Have you had antibodies tested to determine if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis?

1) first of all you are lucky that you have been tested for the free T4 and Free T3 in addition to TSH.

2) Could you describe your symptoms and the extent of those symptoms and maybe how long you have been suffering from them.

3) Your TSH which is a unreliable test but a test many Dr's use exclusively is about where many Dr's would say would be PERFECT.  But as I said TSH is in my opinion just about useless so you need to dig deeper.

4) your Free T4 which is the storage hormone that says in wait for when it needs to be used by the body.  When called for, your T4 is converted into T3.  Anyhow your Free T4 is within range.  However it is only at 29.4% of the range so it is quite low.

5) Your Free T3 which is the only hormone your body actually uses at the cellular level similarly is low in the range at only 21.6%.

Many people have found that IF they are symptomatic, they need to have both of the following to be a target.

A) the Free T4 to be in the MIDDLE of the range (50%) if not even a bit higher

and - that means in addition

B) the Free T3 to be in the UPPER 1/3 of the range (66.7%).

Everyone is different and will feel well at a different level. Some people would even feel perfectly well with your levels.  However you said that you are symptomatic so that means you will need some medication in order to feel well.

The problem for you will be to find a Dr who will prescribe a starter dose of medication because all three of your blood labs are within range and the TSH which is the only thing many Dr's look at is what many would term to be perfect.  So many Drs will not prescribe anything.

There are plenty of web links and study's to show that TSH is unreliable and that many people need to be well up into the range to feel well.  Simply being "somewhere" within the range is NOT sufficient for many if not most people.  You are in about the bottom quarter of both ranges so I'm not surprised that you have symptoms.

Stay on this site and do a lot of reading and asking questions to educate yourself.  You will find most Dr's are NOT well versed in Thyroid or how to treat effectively. You really have to become your own best and strong self advocate.

It is unfortunately not uncommon for someone in your position to be told by the Dr that you are normal, everything is fine and that any symptoms you have are not from thyroid.  The Dr may be quick to tell you that it is all in your head, prescribe anti-depressants or anti anxiety pills.  All of it BS.

You would need to post the ranges for each level in order for members to know where you are at wiyh the thyroid labs, ranges vary from lab to lab.
