Possible drug interaction

I have been managed with testosterone pellets implanted every four months since age 58. I recently had my thyroid removed and am balancing the Synthroid doses to TSH. The surgery was at a low for pellets. Are there really any issues with t4 binding proteins, regulation of thyroid function, and testosterone pellets? Some sites posit a possible interaction others say no.

This is a very old thread and Smilerdeb is no longer posting on the forum.

Not sure why you want the testosterone pellets.  While testosterone is produced in very small amounts, by the ovaries, it is predominantly a male sex hormone. It's not a thyroid medication; nor is it usually used as a weight loss aid. There are adverse side effects.

Hello All,
I am curious if I can get the testosterone pellets due to my hypothyroidism/Hashimotos Disease and use of Levothyroxine?

I am newly dx'd and desperate to feel better and loose this added weight.  Today, I have an appt with a Chinese Medicine Specialist as well.  I am on a two month wait list to see an Endocrinologist.

I just picked up the Selenium 200 mcg and bumped my Levothyroxine up to 75 mcg.

Any other helpful suggestions?

Thanks,
Anni
