HELP No Insurance, need understanding ASAP

to sum up, I went from one day to the next swollen thyroid, it is now under my collar bone pressing on all my nerves causing excrutiating pain and has moved my trachae.. I have no insurance and they will only do the surgery when i land back in the emergency room at point of death basically... I have nodules shown on ultra sounds and ct scan, blood levels normal never had a history of thyroid issues (all blood work always negative) although i show alot of the symptoms for years now.. I do suffer from cyst since a teenager so i really hope it is just a cyst... waiting on last blood work for hashimoto and graves results this week... i am only in my 30's and do not want to take pills for life... has anyone been able to control the swelling naturally? has anyone had only a cyst and was surgery necessary? lastly if remaining test show negative and no cancer can i refuse surgery as i see no point and there must be some natural alternative... please help sincerely so confused and desperate!

Do you have a report showing that this is, indeed, your thyroid gland that's swollen under your collar bone?

Also, could you please post the most recent thyroid blood test results you've obtained, along with their corresponding reference ranges, since ranges vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own report.

Also, please post results, specifically the "impression", of your latest thyroid ultrasound, so we can see the characteristics of your thyroid nodules

Exactly what symptoms of thyroid condition have you had over the years - those of hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism?  There are worse things than taking a small pill every day, if you have something, like hypothyroidism that requires replacement thyroid medication.  Many of us are daily thyroid hormones; there are a lot worse things.

You can always refuse a surgery if you choose to do so, but for many things, there is no alternative treatment - such as hypothyroidism - you must have thyroid hormones and if your thyroid doesn't work, there is no way to get them, other than taking a daily pill.  There are a variety of medications to choose from.  For hyperthyroidism, there are a variety of anti-thyroid medications or surgery, which, ultimately results in hypothyroidism and the need for a daily pill.

All of that said,  you must first have all the necessary tests/results to know exactly what's happening before you can make any decisions.
