REGROWTH OF THYROID

I had a TT 1 year ago, now it's growing back, I have a new surgeon, and don't know if I want another surgery. There has to be some type of natural herb or something out there that will help it shrink. I read on here someone woman said she got something she seen on line, and it shrunk it. She didn't tell the name I am so pissed off. But it seems like thyroid is a problem almost as close to cancer. I need help, I gaining weight like crazy, now back  losing my hair. My thighs are swollen so big it's hard to walk. Again my question is help is there anything out there besides prescription medicine that can shrink my regrown thyroid.

After a TT, it's not good to have TSH so high.  High TSH can stimulate the regrowth of thyroid tissue.

You are not on a therapeutic dose of Synthroid.  So, you are still hypo.

Is your doctor testing anything else besides TSH?  If he's not, then he's not a good thyroid doctor.  He should be testing FT3 and FT4 every time your blood is drawn.

I agree with your doctor, though, the increase from 50 mcg to 88 mcg should make you less likely, not more, to gain weight.  It takes time to get used to a new dose, and sometimes symptoms worsen for a bit when you change.

Next time you have blood work, insist on FT3 and FT4 as well as TSH.

So went to the Dr today, and my TSH is 9.6 it was 12.60 this is with the 50mcg. But he did tell me with the 88mcg the only way it will make me gain weight is if  I have heart failure. Which I have a good heart, I'm not on medicade. So I guess I'll start back taking the 88 for a month until my next blood work. And I know my body I put on weight when I took the 88mcg.
When I took the 50mg within 1wk I started losing inches.
I'm just so tired of all this blood work, different prescription drugs. I noticed since I have been on synthroid my joints have been cracking so much it didn't start until I took synthroid.

If you had a TT, even if some tissue is growing back, 50 mcg is not nearly a replacement dose.  I'm guessing you're under medicated.  The gain of 10 lbs a week and a half after increasing your meds to 88 had nothing to do with the increase.  It takes 4-6 weeks for the increase to have full effect.

Do you have recent thyroid labs to post?  If so, please do and include reference ("normal") ranges that vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.  If you don't have that information, you should call or visit your doctor and ask for a copy (they have to give it to you on request).  With that information, we can make some suggestions on what to talk to your doctor about.

Oh yeah i'm taking 50mcg of synthroid, I had a surgeon Dr change it t 88mcg and without 1wk and half I gain 10 pounds. So I went back to 50mcg but now it's like pure hell trying to get the 10 pounds off.
