Radioactive scan

I am scheduled for a radioactive scan this week.  My husband and I have been trying to conceive for the past 3 years.  If there's any possibility that I am pregnant would this harm the embryo?  It's far too early to take a pregnancy test (I'm only a few days past ovulation) but I'm worried that if I am, I'm putting my baby at risk).

RAIU radioactive active uptake scan is an X-RAY.
So please if in any doubt........cancel  it.

Pregnancy does show up in the blood and there are now pregnancy tests out that show if your pregnant before you even miss a period!
Modern Technology! lol
DONT have the uptake scan if there is ANY doubt whatsover.
It may result in miscarraige should you be pregnant.
Suggest to yr Doc that you would rather have an ultrasound than an uptake scan if you think you may be pregnant.
Gone are the days of waiting for a missed period before knowing if pregnant lol.

Thanks for your reply!

I'm hoping that they can do bloodwork or something to check.  I'd hate to postpone this even longer!

On the link below it says-"If there is any chance that you are pregnant, or if you are breast-feeding, let your doctor know. Radionuclides could harm your nursing baby or a developing fetus, so your doctor will use an alternative method to diagnose the problem, such as ordering additional blood tests or monitoring your symptoms over several weeks to see if they resolve"

Maybe they could do a blood test to check for pregnancy? I think it shows up alot sooner in the blood I could be wrong.
