Rare Thyroid Disease

I had a total thyroidectomy and the labs came back and we thought it was Graves but the labs said something like DeQuaine's but I google and cannot find it.  I was also kind of out of it when my surgeon told me this. I had to stay in the hospital longer due to my calcium levels and forgot to ask him again and write it down.  Does that ring a bell?

Thanks found it. It says it can be treated but in my case no way as my surgeon said it was white and rock hard and would have to come out so I am glad i decided to remove the sucker.  Now if I can deal with the recovery - I am such a baby : )

No they were jostled around though as my thyroid was so hard my nerves leading to my vocals and parathyroids were like glued to my thyroid - he said it was a vey hard surgery.  It took 3 days for my calcium levels to come up and stay up

Lisa, did the surgeon remove your parathyroids? Is that why your calcium is low?
