WHat does all this mean to me about my thyroid?
am a 47 year old female and was just wondering about my test results. my dr run thyroid panel with tsh, 3rd generation. My results are as follow T3 uptake 37, T4 (thyroxine), 7.4, Free T4 Index (T7) 2.7, TSH, 3rd Generation 0.71. What does all this mean. The T ... Through the numbers you post it's difficult to say,I guess you are hyperthyroid ,in order to be sure ,perform the following anti thyroid antibodiies .
TSI thyroid antibodies
anti TGab
anti TPOab
through these you can know if you have autoimmunity .
ps. ask for the FT3 also !

Please check and make sure of the result listed as free T4. I've never seen a free T4 range like that. Could it be free T3 instead of free T4?
Unfortunately, T3 uptake has been replaced by the more accurate Free T3 reading.
Dont know why your doctors lab is using out of date information, uncommon today.
If I remember correctly, T3 uptake was at one time used to figure out Free T3, not positive how it works though.
Your TSH (by obsolete and current ranges) looks OK.
Free T3 (missing) determines how you feel, its the active hormone, most important to interpret.
Maybe a more 'seasoned' member here can comment on the UPtake results. This is a holiday weekend for most, not much recent activity on the board.
If you dont get any more info, you might want to repost withT3 UPTAKE in title to get someones attention.
