Help Please

I had a totaly thyroidectomy and multinodular gotire removed last August 2006, and wish I had never had the surgery.  I went into a Thyroid storm, and almost lost my life.I have been so ill ever since. I  now have hypocalcemia and Hypomagnesia.....I have been telling my endo I feel so ill most of he time, exhuasted, tingling in my face and hands. My body aches through to the bones, I feel sick and quesey most of the time. All they kept telling me is the levels will right themselves, but it has be over a year now and I cannot reatin calcium or magnesium I an currently having counelling for post traumatic stress . My doctors just cannot give me any answers....Should they be checking my parathyroid hormones, as I do not think this is being done, andy advice would be very appreciated, so Please Please. Help.

Please, please get a second opinion from an endo who specializes in thyroids.  It sounds like you need to have more done for you than is being done right now.

If you don't get any answers here its because we don't know. If you haven't already, you might go to the doctor forum and ask Dr. Lupo at http://www.medhelp.org/forums/show/120 OR
at left of page almost top, under "Thyroid Disorders" in red click on "thyroid" it will take you to the forum.

If you have posted more than one post per the sites rules for doctors forums, you probably won't get in. Or if the forum is full and not taking any more questions you can try another day.for
