I'm sorry, but isn't it your dog you should be taking to the GP? LOL Some of our members have endos, some have GPs, some have integrated medicine specialists, but you're the first one I've heard of with a vet!!! My vet said that the joke among vets is that they are doctors who know how to treat more than one species...guess she's right!
What is your potassium level? My vet (yes my dog's doctor) just pointed out to me that my low sodium number should be compared to my potassium level-the ration between them can point to Addison's.
My vet has diagnosed me with autoimmune poyglandular disorder. Now off to my general practioner to see if we think this is worth a trip to an endo.
That's really a very insignificant drop in TSH. TSH varies considerably, even intraday, so something as seemingly insignificant as the time of day the blood was drawn can affect it that much and more. However, if you really want a more complete thyroid profile, ask for free T3 and free T4 to be tested. T3 and T4 are the actual thyroid hormones, and their levels say much more about thyroid function than TSH. Your PCP can order those test for you...I doubt you need to see an endo unless they should come back questionable.
