I am highly obliged for the instant response of my worries and once again thanks for the exceptional sympethetic approach of the members.
That should be fine as long as you are feeling ok. I was hyperthyroid practically the whole last year (I recently had my thyroid out). Mine was much lower than yours at times. My heart rate was 160 at rest at one point just to give you an idea. Hyperthyroidism can be dangerous if untreated, but you WILL have symptoms. A sudden fever or any of the symptoms above should be taken seriously. A lot of individuals are placed on a beta blocker or antithyroid drugs or both. For now, try not to worry. As I said, tsh is not always accurate and yours is only slightly hyper. Ask for a free t3, a free t4 and antibody testing. The free t3 and free t4 are just more accurate measurements. The antibody testing will test you for thyroid antibodies. There are specific antibodies for hashimotos or graves, or you can have both. This will give them a good ideas as to WHY/IF your thyroid is doing something weird. Try to relax. I forgot to mention panic attacks and anxiety are common with hyperthyroid symptoms. Trust me, you will KNOW if you are having hyper symptoms. If you feel your heart racing or frequent heart palps it might be time to get into the doc sooner. Right now though, you feel good, and its not really that far out of range. Symptoms are important when dealing with the thyroid. If you do not have any, it probably doesn't need to be messed with at this point. Just wait and see what the next test brings. Good Luck.
Thanks for your instant and detailed response. i would like you tell me about the followimg t3 and t4, antibodies and free's. is hypertyroid can be life threatening. should i ask my doctor to go for the following tests as he advised me to do the test after 2 months will it not be too late to take care of it. regards. mansoor
If you feel well, I would not worry about it at this moment. TSH is not always extremely accurate. You need to test your free t3 and free t4 to see what is really going on. Your numbers just by tsh would suggest you are slightly hyperthyroid. There is no cure through diet and lifestyle unfortunately (I tried even knowing there was not). Watch out for heart racing, shortness of breath, frequent bowel movements, and intolerance to heat. Actually watch out for any weird symptoms as hashimoto's can cause you to go hyper too. As for now, you said you do not have any symptoms, so just keep your eye on it. Maybe routinely test it, and next time ask for the free's to be tested too. Yuo should also have your antibodies tested to determine if you have hashi's or graves. Good Luck.
