Thyroid issue

Hi
I am a 30 years old and it is been 3 months I have faced thyroid problem. First it started with high fever and sever pain in throat. later i met specialist and he said its SAT. I did blood test and iodine absorption test as well. It was showing only 3% absorption( the normal range was 20-50%). He prescribed Prednisolone tablet for 40 days.the pain reduced and i was better but after 1 month again i had pain in neck.( I am not sure it is due to lymph node or thyroid problem). I repeated all the tests, Iodine absorption, ultrasound, thyroid scan,,etc.
2 days back the specialist reported multi nodular goiter and due to large size of cold nodules he did FNA.
I am extremely worried about this. I would be really appreciated if any specialist in this website help me out .

We are not specialists, or doctors of any kind.  We are simply patients like you.  Some of us have been dealing with thyroid conditions for many years and have done a lot of research and are very familiar with thyroid conditions. We're here to help in any way we can.

Did your doctor order thyroid function tests, such as Free T4, Free T3 and the pituitary hormone test, TSH?  If so, please post those results, with their corresponding reference ranges.

If your iodine absorption test showed only 3%, that would indicate your thyroid is not working well (producing hormones) and you need to be on replacement hormones.  Did your doctor prescribe you the necessary hormones?  If so, please tell us what hormones he prescribed and what dosage.

Is the pain in your neck, the only symptom you have?  If you have other symptoms, please tell us what they are.
