Hi. I'm sorry to learn that you can barely function.
I have not tried coconut oil. I also read a post on this forum from someone else who is taking hemp seed oil. I include hemp hearts in my diet.
Has your regular doctor tested your Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, and ferretin (iron) levels? I've read it can be difficult to get magnesium testing.
I take Vitamin B12 and D supplements. I am trying to increase my iron (reduced stores), potassium (low end of normal) and magnesium through my diet, I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian.
What I have found helps with hypothyroid symptoms includes selenium (brazil nuts), avoiding goitrogens, avoiding stress, eliminating refined carbohydrates/sugar. More recently I found the benefits of coconut oil so I am most definitely going to try that as well.
"Coconut oil can also positively affect our hormones for thyroid and blood-sugar control. People who take coconut oil also tend to have improvements in how they handle blood sugar since coconut can help improve insulin use within the body. Coconut oil can boost thyroid function helping to increase metabolism, energy and endurance. It increases digestion and helps to absorb fat-soluble vitamins." = Dr Oz - The Surprising Health Benefits of Coconut Oil.
