Activa and Hyperthyroidism?

I was shocked when I went in for a routine physical and discovered that I was hyperthyroid. I had lost some weight, yes, but was trying.

The big difference was that I began eating Activa yogurt wtih bifides regularis bacteria. I loved it and could tell it speeded up my metabolism as I was not constipated. I started losing weight and was thrilled.

Now the blood tests say I have "hyperthyroidism." I'm just wondering if there is a connection and I have a weird side effect. I know yogurt is supposed to stimulate the thyroid because of the iodine, but I'm wondering if my thyroid was overstimulated.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Teresa

sounds like a coincidence.. I ate activia for the 14 day challenge and it did nothing for me, didn't even help me to use the bathroom and i still had a high TSH last doc visit.. Also TMI.. it threw off my ph balance and killed all of my yeast and caused a bacteria infection YAY ME...

I seriously doubt that Activia caused hyperthyroid.  Iodine overdose could be caused by IV contrast for a scan or some prescriptions.  Food? Probably not.
Do you have any lab results to post here?
It is probably a coincidence.  Mine was.
I was trying to lose weight.  Ate nothing white and had a big glass of juice from my Jack Lalane Power Juicer everyday.  The power juice did not cause my hyperT.  It was just a coincidence.
