hoping you can answer this question for me..on vitamin issue, I take multi, vit d3 and calcium daily. wondering if I can add vit b12 sublingle to this without overdosing...my vit is centrium silver...hashi`s .,,have no thyroid on replacement meds....thank you
Please post your FT4 and reference range. Often, just being in normal range isn't enough to relieve symptoms.
Of course, a B-12 deficiency can cause fatigue that makes thyroid fatigue look like child's play. You should make sure the sublingual you are taking has your B-12 level well up into the range. Many people find B-12 has to be close to, or even above, the top of the range.
You'd be surprised how many of the symptoms of fibro might be relieved if your thyroid meds were right. There are those who think fibro and hypothyroidism are one and the same. I also have OA in my lower back, but when I was hypo, it was so much worse than it is now. Getting my meds right didn't cure it; I'd had it years before being hypo, but it sure helped a lot when I got my thyroid meds right.
Last TSH (last month) was 2.35 & Free T4 was normal. I go to ENDO every six months. She only checks TSH & Free T4.
Was Vit. D deficient a year ago and was put on high dose of Vit. D2. I've taken 5,000 mg/daily D3 since then. Get yearly Vitamin/mineral testing. Due for one next month. Was also slightly Calcium deficient. I now take 500 mg. magnesium & 1000 mg. calcium/daily. I also take B12 3,000 mg. sublingual. I suffer greatly from fatigue.
My TSH various with stress. If I'm stressed/having health problems, it goes to abnormal range.
I also suffer from fibromyalgia & osteoarthritis in my lower spine/neck, so it's hard to know whether pain is from hypo/arthritis or fibromyalgia.
The fatigue and joint muscle aches and pain are the worse symptoms that I'm dealing with now.
Thank you.
If you still have all those hypo symptoms, your meds are not properly adjusted. Do you have recent thyroid tests results? If so, please post them with reference ranges from your own lab report. We can take a look and see what we see.
Have you had vitamin and mineral testing?
