I have BOTH the Hashi's antibodies and Graves' antibodies!!!! "lost the luck of the draw" is what my endocrinologist told me....
Oh and it went back to bout 25 year ago the symptoms, but of course it was just my imagination and anxiety's :))
Doing well Nicola ..thanks xxx
Back at work although did go a fraction hypo from chronic hives and stress.
But numbers are coming back up and TSH going back down lol.
You know me...like a see-saw the last few months lol.
I am hypo, but my antibodies have always been low.
However, my condition was progressive as I started on a low dose of thyroid meds and have had to increase over the years to what is now more than a full dose (based on body weight).
They have no idea what has caused it, so I have no label.
My thorn in my side is Hashi's. :)
Someday ALL of my Hashi symptoms will magically disappear! lol
Hi Debs.
I am graves through and through, two surgeries due to graves.
Hope youre keeping well hun.
Take care debs
Nicola,xx
At the moment...its looking pretty much EVEN on both....
Interesting.
My doctors says I definately have Hashi's, but I never test positive for the antibodies. I have a goiter and nodules, so that's how he knows. He's also the one that doesn't test the Frees. He's probably right on that call though.
And maybe we should start another Poll...but I am interested as most here are Hashi's and I wondered if Graves was not as common.
Yep Totie..thats what my lab sheets says lol.
But a lot are missing the point here.
There is a BIG digfference between Hashis and hypo...and also Graves and hyper.
I am not asking if they are hypo or hyper...only who has Graves and who has Hashis.
The antibodies...the autoimmune disease.
I think people with Hashimoto's Thyroidosis can have hyperthyroid spells, if I understand correctly.
I have dropped a significant amount of weight spontaneously for absolutely no apparent reason. Someone once asked me during that time how I lost it, and I flat out told them "I sat on my butt in front of a computer for ten hours a day."
My sister has Grave's though and I've never been tested for those antibodies.
I was dx'd with Hashi's about a year and 1/2 ago, but have never been tested for Graves because no one ever looked at my thyroid when I was dead tired and lost down to 75 lbs at 45 yrs old.......
I suspect I might have both, Hashi's and Graves.......
I'm also hypo........maybe we need another thread "hypo or hyper"?? LOL
So, I am hypo with graves?
Once Graves..always Graves.
I am now classified as Hypo lol.
I HAD graves/hyper/goiter but had TT, what would I be considered now? Hypo?
I have Graves and was traced back to 26 years prior...but was ignored.
