Hi all,
For those of you looking in the near-Madison, WI area, I saw Dr. Bouc in Beloit in the middle of August. He is phenomenal. Unlike the other docs I've seen, he is treating me by my symptoms instead of looking at my TSH and saying, "your in the normal range" and doing nothing. Since switching doctors to Dr. Bouc, I am feeling significantly better. He switched my meds from Synthroid to WP thyroid.
I simply cannot recommend him enough. He was not covered by my insurance (GHC), but paying for him out-of-pocket was the best thing I have done for my health in years.
I also sent you a PM as a possible Dr who may be helpful.
Gimel. I have not yet "recommended" this Dr just yet as my wife has only been with him for about 4 weeks. But was very compassionate and actually listened to my wife and was open and actually prescribed at my wifes request Armour. Currently she is undermedicated but my wife does not want to push too hard just yet as she really likes this Dr. so far.
My wife said this is the 1st Dr. after several in over 9 years that ACTUALLY listened to her and took her seriously! So that is why she is paranoid about ticking him off after searching for so long to find a Dr who listens!
There is a guy in Appleton Wisconsin named Dr Johnson. He is actually a Chiropractor but does treat hypo and Hashi's.
You mentioned functional medicine Dr.
You can look that up here If you'd like a few more to sort though:
functionalmedicine.org
Its also a good site just to keep around, always new Drs going to this "side" of medicine.
