alternating dosage

I'm about to raise my synthroid myself because I can tell that my thyroid is low. I can't wait to see my doctor. Splitting a 100 mcg tablet sevens times is impossible. Would it be safe to take an extra tablet one day per week. I've read a case where someones doctor actually presscribed a higher dose one day a week. But then again some doctors are crazy. How common would it be to do this? Is it effective? Or will my thyroid bounce out of control?

And yes I know the risks of raising medicine without prescriptions, so on and so on.

Keep calling till you get a response.  If you are leaving messages, make sure you make if very clear that this is a HUGE problem and needs attention NOW.

Yeah I am a afraid to try it but I'm also afraid of failing my history, sociology, psycology and speech classes. My brain is so foggy when I'm tired. EEK!

Yeah I'll call the doc tomorow. It's a new doctor. The thing is someone was supposed to return my call twice but never did.

I know there are some that take different dosages on alternating days (ie: maybe one day 100, then the next 112, etc).  I, personally, would be terrified to do this without my doctor's guidance as it would be so easy to really mess things up.  If you aren't scheduled to see your doctor for a while, why not call and tell them you are having problems and want to come in sooner?

I certainly would not recommend it.  Good luck.
