causes of malabsorption of meds

My daughter had Graves Disease and her thyroid was irradiated. She has no natural thyroid function. A year ago she developed a Candida infection that spread to her lungs because she was mis-diagnosed and given MORE antibiotics. She has had many recurrences since. At the same time she has stopped absorbing her thyroid meds despite very high doses. I read somewhere that Candida can prevent the absorption of thyroid hormones, which would explain her impossibly high numbers (in the hundreds).
Does anyone know where I can find that information to pass on to her endocrinologist? He is at a loss. This is complicated by a diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobility), which we know has a high incidence of gastric problems. In her case, she suffers from chronic vomiting, so that is no doubt a factor in both mal-absorption and candidiasis.

I also had terrible vitamin deficencies and was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease.  Once I was gluten-free, the dosage of my thyroid meds was reduced as the intestinal tract healed.  Has anyone looked for this in your daughter?

If you go back to the forums under gasteroenterology (I know that is not the right spelling), you might be able to get some  answers.
