It sounds like you may need a higher dose.  With the T3 in the Armour, you should feel some improvement, relatively quickly.

What are your current thyroid hormone levels?  Please post lab results, with reference ranges.

Yes, many people on med with a T3 component, split the dose, with 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 around noon or early afternoon.  T3 is pretty fast acting and is in and out of your system relatively quickly, so splitting the dosage keeps the level more stable throughout the day.  Depending on your total dosage, you might even be able to split it into 3 doses, but it's not recommended that you take a T3 med after 3:00 pm, as it may interfere with sleep.  I take generic T3, with my Tirosint and I take 1/2 in the morning and the other 1/2 around noon.

I'm on Armour now but was wondering if Nature throid has less fillers and binders, and less side effects, I still retain water, my Armour was increased because I was low, and its only been since the 19 that I increased the dose, it does take awhile to balance out doesn't it? I had read that you said one should split the dose, 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 like at 3:00 I notice around 7 my legs feel like they want to twitch sometime, uneasy feeling, does that happen to anyone? Erfa sounds good, it has very little binder and fillers and color like titanium dioxide. I just want to find a pill that will make me feel good and normal consistantly. I want to go back to work.

Yes, I've used it for several years now. Cash price is the same as armour $20 to $25 per month. Insurance does not cover import meds. But mine wouldn't cover any dessicated med anyway!

Due to the new "Obamacare" law, I can only get it in 90 day supplies, before I could get 6 months worth.

The newer Acella NP thyroid, similar to original armour and erfa,  can be ordered at walmart, walgreens and target. If I were you, thats what I'd try.

Nature-Throid is an American based company; RLC Labs is the manufacturer.  They also make/made Westhroid, which I believe is out of production now.

Seems that ERFA is the desiccated of choice, these days, but there could end up being a problem getting it, when the new health care law goes into effect.  There was talk that Canadian meds would no longer be allowed in the U.S. because they're less expensive than American made meds.  It's all to do with big pharma.

Thankyou Bruce, I sure wish they wouldn't have messed with Armour, I hear it was reallly good back when, but then they started adding new fillers and binder to it. I've been on Armour for over a month, but there must be something in its  filler or binder, that makes me retain water and I seem to heat up alot, I really want to try Erfa or now I've been reading on about Naturethroid, do you know if this is from the US or is this also from Canada? thanks again debbie

There are a lot of folks on this.   If you buy it right from erfa its very expensive, however if you buy it from a canadian online drug store, its not out of range with other drugs.  Some people swear by erfa and say its the best of the armours, while others do great on good ole armour in the US.

I have heard that Erfa is a good choice as its as close to the original formula of armour that is currently available.
