a "new" problem...well the cardiologist report is that I have mitral valve insufficiency....sheesh...didn't I read someplace that people with autoimmune thyroid problems also likely to have this defect? well...? it is "mild to moderate" at this point...with some enlargement in the left atrium...the only treatment being pursued is HBP meds (which I already had) and diuretics because of the edema...sheesh..I lost 5lbs of water in a week! also see the endo on Friday

the name of the diuretic is Dyazide...it is a combo medication---- triamterene 37.5mg/HCTZ (hydochlorathiazide) 25mg

Hello, I been having the foot and ankle problem to, what is the name of the new pill that preserves potassium? I need to mention that to my Doc I guess, I been wearing these awful compression stockings.

Heart problems, too?  OMGosh, something else for us to worry about!  Guess I'll be talking to my endo about that at my appt. this afternoon.  Will it ever end?

You read correct.

I have MVP also.

So far no big deal, for me.

Only take meds. for dental or surgeries to keep infections away.

Its liveable.

I was sent to the cardiologist for an echocardigram by my internist (pcp) last thursday after I went in wednesday about this nasty URI I have and mentioned..oh btw...my feet and legs are swelling...she examined me...did an ekg and sent me there the next day because the ekg was abby normal :) also gave me the diuretic (a new one that is supposed to preserve potassium)...oh I also got another antibotic today because the URI is not much better even after a Zpack...feel pretty much like he!! these days..
