Thanks Barb....no I'm female. Yes the refs are the same as before, done at the same lab. And I'm dumping this Gp and seeing and endo in a months time. She made small changes in meds at first but I still had all these awful symptoms and still do. Apart from high blood pressure, that is a lot better now.But Anxiety is worse then ever. Haven't been tested for Hashimotos. I'm being tested for systemic lupus now....have discoid.
Were the reference ranges the same as you posted above? If so, your levels don't really look like you were over medicated, since your FT results were within the ranges, though FT4 was on the high side.
FT3 is what correlates with symptoms, while FT4 and TSH do not. At 4.0 your FT3 was only at 41% of its range. Rule of thumb is to have FT3 in the upper 1/2 to upper 1/3 of its range, with FT4 at about mid range.
Looks to me like you were still somewhat hypo and possibly not converting FT4 to FT3 properly.
I don't understand why your doctor took you off all medication and allowed you to go so hypo again. That's a pretty clear indication that s/he doesn't know a lot about treating thyroid disease. It's always best to make small changes, than anything drastic.
Do you know if you have Hashimoto's?
Have you been tested for other conditions that could cause similar symptoms? Your profile says you're male; is that correct?
Hi and thanks Barb
I have been on 100 synthroid for a long time and it's been working fairly well all those years. With getter hyper and i don't think it's all that much over? Terrible symptoms....high bloodpressure, nausea night swets and I've lost 15 kilos in 5 months. Balance problems and high anxiety. I'm now on 75 synthrod 30-4 my results were
Free T4 18.8
Free T3 4.0
TSH 0.25
What dosage Synthroid are you on?
Anxiety is a symptom of hypo, as well as hyper. What were your lab levels when you were over medicated? Your current levels indicate under medicated.
