Got test results today

Hi, Well today I received my uptake test results and they are not good. The dr. says that my Thyroid  took 100% of the iodine.  I'm so sad, scared and very nervous to say the least. The Dr. is still pushing RAI,  I start PTU tomorrow and he told me that this would not work from me (to put me in remission).

I'm so heartborken too. My husband and I are planning on taking a trip at the end of this month. I was told that I can't do anything that would make my heartrate excelarate. No hiking, kayaking, no snorlking, no parashooting or parasailing.  Ok I'm sorry I didn't mean to dump this on you.

Anyways back to my question. I don't really like this doctor. I feel as though he is trying to pressure me into making a decission quick and I can't.  He's also talks to me like I'm on a death bed or something and I know this is serious but still.

Should I change doctor or just wait it out?  Also is surgery easier than the RAI drug?  I'm not sure what I want to do. I'm kinda of scared of surgery like I"m not going to die or something. Also the RAI scareds me too.  Which is the lesser evils?

Thanks everyong

If you are not happy with this doctor, by all means go to another.  There is no harm in getting a second opinion.  I have not had to experience RAI or surgery.  There are others here that can answer your question better than i can, so keep checking your post.  It might take a little while to get a reply, but someone here can relate to your dilema.
