several questions

Is there a minimal number of carbohydrates needed to make synthroid do its job?

What if TSH #'s are good, taking synthroid & cytomel - but energy at times lacks in am and/or pm,

and if one works hard at a gym several days - is it rough on the adrenals?

What about supplementing with potassium?

“Is there a minimal number of carbohydrates needed to make synthroid do its job?”  ~ Honestly, I've never read of any correlation between the intake of carbohydrates and being on levothyroxine - what the brand Synthroid is.

”What if TSH #'s are good, taking synthroid & cytomel - but energy at times lacks in am and/or pm,”  ~ This sounds like something to go over with your dr.  You might have other issues he/she needs to check for.

”and if one works hard at a gym several days - is it rough on the adrenals?”  ~ If you're healthy I’d think you would have to work extremely hard, like several days amount in one day, before your adrenal system would get taxed.  If you do suspect something is going on in that area, a dr can test for a problem.

“What about supplementing with potassium?”  ~ I’m not sure something like this is even available without a script.  Also, I do know taking potassium in the form of a supplement is a last resort, as it can be toxic.  A food source that’s high in potassium would be the first line of treatment.

Good luck.

If what you are thinking is what I am thinking you may want to look more into and research the amino acids like L-tyrosine or Acetyl-L-Carnitine.

You have to watch your carb intake on your Synthroid/hypothyroidism problem - taking in the "right" carbs is important.

Proteins should be looked at more - if you are looking for metobolism energy burners

Yep - if your adrenals are pooped - working hard at the gym is defeating your purpose. Looking at proper testing first on their function is good - incase you are having issues.

I am on the fence on the potassium stuff. Potassium is a hard mineral and can counteract if you are not certain you need it as a supplement. What actually brought you to thinking about potassium?
