they added a tiny drop of t3 in. Im now on 255 t4, this has not changed. They are telling me that it is taking the t4 slower to work in my system. They told me that i need to wait 6 weeks (not 5) before testing again and in the meantime just add 2.5 cytomel at 1 pm. I took it today, second day, i cant even tell i took anything. I think it reduced the wackyness. not sure honestly.
I had an MRI to check the ringing in my ears. Also to look at my brain. and you guessed it.... all clean...
my ears ring, im exhasted. Tsh is 35.0
i had the Rt3 tested on my last labs it said it was okay. I was told that even if they were messed up, there isnt much they can do for rt3 for people with no thyroid, we need the t4.
When I was finally given T3 medication separate from the T4.....
I was able to lower my T4 by 35 mcgs went from 135 to 100 T4
I have a conversion problem and going way high on T4 wasn't the answer. For me,
Adding T3 was.
Mia
A reverse T3 can happen Bruce.
Today i felt better than i have in a long time. On 255 MCG t4. Most of the time my tests were better, i started with a TSH of 150!
the most amazing thing ( i hope you old timers remember this) - 3 years ago i couldnt even take 12.5 mcg t4. Now im on 255 t4 baby!! LOL ill be on 275 when all is said and done..
Wow !! 255 mcg, good luck with that dose. Thought I was going insane on 225 mcg, felt like drinking 50 cups of coffee daily. Now I'm down to 150 mcg, system finally calming down.
Appears your ft3 is dropping with each dose, ft4 slowly decreasing. I was also thinking, since you take your meds at late hrs, during times body metabolism slows down, actually everything slows down during sleep hrs, your meds are not absorbing into system properly. Ambian is a sedative, similar to a muscle tranquilizer, which can cause your system to severly slow down. Just a thought :)
I love it. I can put it under my tongue and let it dissolve. I can eat it like its candy.
Here are my full labs:
last month 220 mcg
tsh 20.20 (range .4-4.5)
ft3 2.6 (range 2.3-4.2)
ft4 1.1 (range 0.7-1.8)
this month 235k mcg
tsh 34.89 .4-4.5
ft3 2.4 2.3-4.2
ft4 1.0 0.8-.8
so now im on 255 mcg t4. I am on day 3 (or 4) or something. Ive taken 3 of them.
How could i get worse with no thyroid. Is this nuts?
I don’t know how you take Ambien…I tried it two years ago when the insomnia started and it lit me up like a Christmas tree! My eyes dilated to the size of dinner plates… I thought I was back in college! ;) My doctor called me back in and verified I had some type of neurological reaction to it…needed to say I cannot take it.
My neighbor sleep walks on that stuff too…
do a liver cleans. and adrenal support. help with benzo detox. and thyroid conversion.
sounds like adrenal issues. do yopu drink alot of water?
ON this 255 mcg t4, i take it and then 4 hours later i feel like i have a jet engine in my body i have so much energy (too much) as the day wears on, it wears off. BY about 7-8 pm the ears start ringing and i crash. There is no middle ground. its either too much or too little
also i take my meds at night, and i test 11 hours later (take at midnight, test at 1pm ) etc. This should be okay, right?
sounds like a conversion problem. have you ever tried to cleans your liver. it might be liver damage from years of drug use. try a OTC product that helps your liver like milk thistle.
I just got back from walgreens and talked to my friend who is a pharmacist. She says she has NO ONE that gets over 200 MCG t4 prescribed and was taken back that I am on 255 MCG with a tsh of 35.
Supposedly I'm "normal". Others have said my free t3 is still too low in range. This is probably the most normal my labs have been for a long time though. I am feeling worse.
Yes, tinnitus can really sux, I've had it for nearly 6 yrs, it began after my last dose of benzo, and it continues on with hormonal imbalance. Guess one can say, I've learned to live with it, tune it out. Cool thing is, levels went from roaring to mild/calm over the yrs.
Accepting can bring comfort, help manage through. Eventually our symptoms will no longer plague us :)
dannie, do you think you are hypo?
I stopped the ambien for about a month and got no relief. And its not listed as one of the side effects :(
I just thought you'd like to know my ears have been ringing a week. It only lasts for a few seconds at a time but yeah, it's here.
Mr. Bruce, Ambian is known to cause tinnitus, not all users experience tinniutus after use, but studies show that people can develop tinnitus. I know for a fact many users of psych meds/sleep aids develop tinnitus. For some it took up to 5 yrs for the tinnitus to resolve, after completely stopping medication that caused it, there are many causes of tinnitus, first step would be to consult with ENT.
As for T4 med, I am going in a completely opposite direction, I went from 200 > 225 > now down to 150,. My FT4 jumped off the scale with .25mg increase. I had TT too. Wishing you well.
It cant be wilsons - my labs are not normal. Wilsons is when your labs are normal but you still have all the whackyness.
Intestinal toxcity. You might find some relief and stability working on your intenstines and getting the GI track in order Bruce
Funny you mention fistual...
I dealt with one for 3yrs....and NOT in the ear....or anywhere near my neck...
BOTTOM...
I weigh 180.
Isnt life great? Totie- my TSH got WORSE when i increased my meds. I cant get it under control.
I had my numbers somewhat under control on armour but i felt really junkie. I really think there is something they are missing but they cant figure out what.
Yesterday they did an MRI of my ears and brain (inner ear) to make sure i dont have a tear or a fistula which seems to be common with acute thyroiditis. I have been very patient. I take my meds for 5 weeks and then test.
This time i took the meds for only 4 weeks but i didnt feel well, so i tested only to find out my tsh got worse.
The only thing i take with the thyroid meds is my ambien. i space it apart by about 30 mins.
There has to be an answer somewhere. All this ear ringing, wonkyness, I just some sort of relief.
