Is your current dr an endocrinologist?  I think you need to see one, for both issues you mention but particularly the high PTH.  An endo would be the best dr to look at that aspect.  If the dr you're talking about was an endo, I'd get a second opinion.

Good luck.

I'm sorry to hear, your doctor is not providing proper help.  The thyroid is very complex and a long journey for some.  My doctors & Endo were clueless for 2 years now, my primary doctor say's, I don't know what else to do ?  because my thyroid blood work alway's returned normal, well today after my thyroid uptake, the scan finally revealed answers.  I am hyperthyroid.  Thanks to the new doctor I was assigned, that scheduled the appointment.

Ask your doctor to refer you, to a specialist or someone knowledgeble to help treat your thyroid.  Sometimes, we have to be patient and go doctor shopping, Lol !!  Obtain copies of your lab reports, and visit other doctors, until you feel comfortable with one, that helps you understand what you are experiencing and what your lab reports mean.
