Hit my head not sure what happened

So a big heavy box fell on my head today at work and I am not sure what happened I was standing getting it off the shelf and the lid fell then I knelt down to pick it up and the box fell on my head as I was looking up.  The wierd thing is I do not really remember the box falling and thought I was standing but I wasn't!  Anyhow I felt and still feel like vomiting and I have been dizzy ever since and it doesn't really hurt anymore but I feel weird! I can't describe!  So not sure if I have a concussion but I am really tired and want to sleep but know I shouldn't.  I don't really want to go to dr but my bf keeps saying he is gonna take me to hospital I won't really go!
I took some advil and my neck and back actually hurt too!  So should I perhaps go to a walkin clinic tomorrow instead of the ER tonight?

You have to go to ER right now since you have symptoms and rule out any bleeding.  Don't delay even a minute.  Initial hours are very important for head injury.
Best.

Okay, so now I am worried because I had to go back to the dr and now I have to go for a CT scan, because there are some "concerning" issues with my symptoms.  Like memory loss, numbness in my face, blurred vision intermitten, slow to understand what people are saying to me and the fact that my head is not hurting just feels numb and pressure.  They took me off work for a while and basically everyone is watching me.  I was at work for 2 days and now that I am off, everyone is saying stuff like, "I was worried about you I am glad they put you off to rest.", and my boss said, "I knew I should have taken you to the hospital on Friday!" so you seem to know what you are talking about so can you tell me what I might expect?

Thanks,

You would not have sit in the ER for hours if the triage nurse has any brains. A head injury places you to the top of the line. They monitor blood pressure for abnormalities which closely corresponds with problems that are developing.

Adter a head injury people often do not think very clearly, so you are not entirely to blame.

Hopefully you won't end up eight months down the line with what is called a subluxion syndrome.

Someone should have called an ambulance. That's what they get paid for.

Think about finding a new boyfriend.

One who has common sense.

If one misses the so-called "window of opportunity" it becomes a matter of watchful waiting. Some injuries heal completely. Others become chronic.

You won't necessarily have life-long problems.

Oh well. Back to "farmville".

I am almost at the level where IO can raise strawberies.

So I went to the dr and he was pretty nonchalant about it said I ahve a concussion and will be dizzy and have bouts of confusion off and on for up to 4 weeks.  He also said I have strained my neck as we noticed bruising around the back of my neck.  I really wasn't playing russian roulette I think I should have went to the ER on Friday night but had no ride and my bf obviously didn't think it was a big deal.  I feel like crap my neck hurts my head is foggy and feels like I am wearing a hat too tight but don't go back to the dr for 2 weeks.  I was surprised that the dr made a diagnosis without barely examining me.  But you message scared me and now I am freaked out and can't do anything about it!  :0/ I wish I had of had the chance to see my own dr or gone to ER when I was apparently incoherent (according to my bf) but he didn't think it would do either if us any good to sit in the ER for hours!!!!!  So now I get to wait for 2 weeks.

Actually what they do to you in case of a concusion is prescribe and administer medications that reduce swelling within the brain. The primary danger from a concussion is the swelling. The swelling impinges on the blood supply to critical structures. This often causes damage.

There is a window of opportunity to eliminate the swelling. If this is lost permanant damage may result.

The damage could be nothing more than loss of memory. Or it could affect the pituitary, an organ that controls hormal production. In the case of the singing group "The Beachboys" the lead singer experience such damage that caused him a lifetime of psychiatric problems. The case was significant enough to be written up in Scientific American.

Then again, you may not have lasting affects.

Some people like to play Russian roulette.

Others prefer chess or farmville.

Oh thank you for your response although I didn't go to the ER or the clinic.  I felt too yucky yesterday.  I really couldn't see straight.  I probably do have a slight concussion but really what's a dr gonna do except tell me to rest and follow up with my dr during the week?  So I guess if I am still feeling dizzy and sick I will go see my dr this week.  Something wierd though my neck keeps clicking when I move it (sounds worse on paper then in real life) so I am actually thinking perhaps I pulled a muscle that would explain my head feeling like it weighs two tonnes!
I actually don't like to go to the hospital or the clinic because I always feel like they think I shouldn't be there, like it's really nothing and I am wasting their time!  Anyhow does anyone know if you can get earaches from being hit in the head? Because both my ears are achy and feel like they need to pop like on the airplane? Is that normal?
Thanks :0)

Vomiting is a hallmark sign of a concusion. As SamPCD stated, you have to go immediately to an emergency room. Do not go home and go to sleep. No, you should not go to a "walk-in" clinic tomorrow.
