That sounds like a wise thing to do. Keep posted....
yes i know hes an idiot shes no longer going to see him but her head butting continues as she does it when in a bad mood we are taking her to pediatrician on 15th june to be tested for autism and sensory processing disorder, so hopefully we can figure her out she also punches herself in the head. so yeah im on constant watch with her....
That doesn't sound good not taking to the hospital after apparent head injury. Your baby going through lot of head injuries which you should be careful.
Again brain can adapt itself pretty good when you are younger but again you should definitely avoid what you can.
MRIs has no radiation and only CT scans emits radiation but for any immediate results they most likely do CT scan in ER for adults. I am not sure about babies.
My only suggestion is just be careful with any head injuries and initial hours are very important.
my little one was at her dads like almost 2 months ago and fell off a retaining wall and hit her head it bled bad and i asked him to take her to hospital but he lied to me told me he did and now she complains of headaches i asked the doc about mri and he said she was ok didnt need one and that its not good for little kids cos of radiation it gives out. then 2 weeks after her head she was hit in the eye with a cupboard causing a black eye. she also head butts the floor.
I am sorry and I don't mean to scare you. You don't need to worry about it since you don't have the symptoms. Mine happened because of a fall and I hit the back of the head pretty violently.
As I mentioned before it is not possible to give accurate diagnosis over the Internet for anyone especially when it comes to brain. Yours is most likely probably nothing significant. When you get a chance go see a doctor just to have peace of mind.
I am so so so scared now!!! how did you hit your head??? I don't have any of the symptoms you mentioned and it's been since saturday so about 3 days now but I couldn't see the doctor yet because I just moved in to my new apartment and Im still trying to figure out places around me. the only thing that m worried about is the pain that I feel when i touch that area and press on it.
It is alright. Don't worry about it. I have too many symptoms and they call it as Post Concussion Syndrome.
Lightheadedness, Headaches, dizziness, visual disturbances, ringing in the ear, smell disorder, fatigue and list goes on. All the symptoms are 24/7. No medications/therapies works.
I have seen tons of specialists. Just hanging in there hoping things get better but have not seen any improvement.
I have gone through fractures, surgeries, illness and completely recovered. But this one made me completely disabled. I would rather lose my hand or leg than go through this bcuz with that at least I can find some coping strategies. No coping strategies is possible with my situation.
Take care of your little one carefully.
ok sorry if i sounded rude i was just wondering whats the big deal on mri here in Australia its expensive. may i ask what symptoms you suffer with? my little one hits her head daily.
Because when I hit my head I had bleeding in my brain which they didn't find in ER because I didn't show much symptoms. Only after 3 days my Primary doctor ordered a CT Scan and found the bleeding. If only they found in the beginning certain steps would have been taken.
I am still suffering from many symptoms after 1 year and don't want anyone to be misdiagnosed if possible. I am not saying you should get an MRI and over the Internet we cannot say it is a bump or something else. it is upto the docor/individual to decide.
In U.S. if you have insurance you don't need to pay that much. I have taken many after the accident which ofcourse was not any use because the initial hours are very important.
I am just telling it from my horrible experience with head injury. that is all. Better to be safe than sorry.
what is with you and MRI they are expensive and really not necessary for a bump on the head, maybe if he fell off a roof or had a motor accident but gee its a bump on the head from a cup board.
if i had a MRI every time i hit my head id be millions of dollars in debt.
Now probably 24 hours passed. Unless you feel miserable you don't need to go ER. You ca go to your doctor and indicate your symptoms if you have any. If I were you I will try to get an MRI just to rule out any issues.
was or is there an egg?(bulge on the for head) if no then you should see a doctor right away, was there bleeding? if yes go to doc straight away. if there is a egg and no bleeding then i wouldn't worry to much, if you become light headed (dizzy) or cant remember what you are or where doing even if for a short time go to a doctor immediately. also keep an eye on your eyes stand in a dark room in front of a mirror and using a torch shine light in your eyes if not contraction of pupil ( black part of the eye) the go to doctors or call ambulance.
Would an imaging center also be good or would the ER be better?
Go to ER and demand for a CT Scan or MRI even if they say it is not needed. When it comes to head injury it is so unpredictable and initial hours are very important.
