My girlfriend has a problem and I want to know if she'll be ok.

My girlfriend has migraine headaches, (her father does also) and I know that a lot of people get them, but my girlfriend has something more serious. She blacked out last week out of nowhere and complained about a stiff neck, dizziness, and headache afterward. She recently had an MRI and they said something about a Nodule or inflammation, maybe growth in the brain.. I don't really remember the conversation, they're going to the neurologist monday, but I want to know if maybe this is a small thing not to worry about because quite frankly, I'm very nervous. I do not know much about the Brain and Im  still getting scared. Please someone tell me if you think she will be ok.

Hi,

How are you?
It is quite possible that what your girlfriend has are micro abscesses. Usually brain abscess respond to antibiotic treatment.
This abscess can be a result of ear infection, dental abscess, paranasal sinus infection to name a few.
It is very difficult to pin point the exact cause without the MRI findings and a clinical examination. Hope this helps!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

Going by the symptoms that you have described (dizziness, stiff neck, headache, fainting), it may be due to 6 causes. They are:

1. Borreliosis: An infectious bacterial disorder that is transmitted by ticks and causes skin rashes joint swelling and other symptoms similar to the flu. A 3- to 4-week course of antibiotic treatment using doxicycline or amoxicillin is generally effective in early disease. Cefuroxime axetil and erythromycin are alternatives.
2. Hip cancer
3. Multiple system atrophy (MSA) with orthostatic hypotension: A progressive neurological disorder involving the central and autonomic nervous system.
4. Subarachnoid hemorrhage
5. Whiplash: Whiplash—a soft tissue injury to the neck—is also called neck sprain or neck strain.
6. Whiplash Injuries

Diagnosis can be confirmed after physical examination and MRI reports. In case the MRI shows some growth in the brain( as told by you)then brain tumor can be suspected. It can be confirmed by histological examination of tumor tissue samples obtained either by means of brain biopsy or open surgery.

Take care and pls post us if you need any more information.
