TBI Emotional/Personality Indicators During Recovery?

My girlfriend suffered a subcranial hemorrhaging in early September. She has recovered quite according to the variety of therapists involved in recovery. I have noticed that when she just started recovery she was very warm, affectionate and described herself as happy. Now her "old self" can come out quite strongly but she's often cold and can be very distant. I know TBI recovery can be very unpredictable but is there a way to identify possible emotional changes for the near future (6-12 months)?
