can't move my bashed eyebrow

Hi. 25 days ago I passed out and fell onto a granite floor, bashing my eyebrow. It sustained a wide but shallow cut, and swelled up. I haven't really experienced any alarming symptoms and it healed to the condition it's in now within a week. I'm concerned though, that after 25 days it still feels like a lump is under the skin, though it's not visibly swollen, and my eyebrow mobility has been drastically reduced. I have quite an expressive face, and now I can't knit my brow or raise that eyebrow independently or very far at all in tandem with the other one. I would like to know my chances for complete recovery, and how long that typically takes. Could there be scarring under the surface that's reducing the muscle's range?

There is a liklihood you have a palsy of a cranial nerve, secondary to trauma. Usually this will resolve within three months, but not always. Another possibility is that you have severed a nerve, which will not grow back. My gut feeling is cranial nerve impingement. Treatment is usually a steroid, but that is controversial after so many days.

Hi Bumblingbee,
Have you figured out what happened? I hope that you have fully recovered and are able to move your eyebrow again.
I also have the same problem with my eyebrow. After falling and hitting my head on the chair, my eyebrow had a cut that required 5 stiches. It's been 2 weeks since the injury, the wound has recovered but I still can't move my eyebrow. It has no pain at all but instead I can feel a little numbing. Plus, I can feel a lump under my skin but there is no visible swelling too.
If you have found a treatment, can you please share it with me since I'm really worried that I won't be able to move my eyebrow anymore. Wish you all the best!

Thank you very much for replying to my post. Though I was hoping for a more encouraging answer! I haven't noticed any improvement over these last few days either. I live in rural China, and doubt they could do much for me if I went in as this would be seen as a cosmetic issue now. I am hoping it'll resolve on its own, and if not, I'm hoping the muscle won't atrophy and begin to droop or something now that it can't be moved. It is a bit numb right over where the small cut was, but this has a tiny scar so I'm not sure what to make of that. I can try to move it but it just feels like something is stopping me - like someone's finger is on my eyebrow holding it in place. There is some movement but I'd say less than 30% of what there should be. Would it be better to try to move it a lot, or to try to hold it still?
