Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Did the MRI include cervical spine? If not then a repeat MRI should be done including cervical spine. An injury or compression at upper cervical level can cause headache, nausea and numbness of one half of body.
Other than that possibility of a subdural hematoma should be considered. Please discuss with your daughter’s neurologist.
Hope this helps. Wishing her an early recovery! Take care!
Ask them for another MRI and if they have 3T magnet it will show much clearer picture. Again any MRI/CT scan can only show so much.
If it is any kind of diffuse injury then the current MRIs are not that powerful to show ultra microscopic details. There are several cases where people in coma and MRIs shows nothing significant.
During head trauma cervical spine can also get messed up and an MRI of it will be useful if at all. Since brain is the most complex machine in the world and only so much can be done by medicine. Your daughter may come back to normal without any intervention hopefully.
Have they suggested doing an MRA/MRV to look at the blood vessels in the brain? Have they considered increased intercranial pressure? Have they thought about meningitis?
