Hello,
5 months ago I had the lymph nodes in front of my right ear swell pretty large. About 3 days later they went down, however, I started to get headaches along with tinnitus, photo/phonophobia, and nerve sensations like touching my cheeks and nerves feelings going to my ears along with ear fullness and popping. First, it was only on my right side, but now the symptoms are on my left side. I've experienced the short bursts of stabbing pain for about 2 days straight, but now it just seems like dull aches around my forehead, migraines, and pain around my jaw. I went t a 'TMJ' specialist and everything looked fine.
I went to the doctor and they said I have trigeminal neuralgia and prescribed me nortriptyline. My symptoms are still here (5 months total so far) and I have been to every specialist except a neurologist which I am waiting to hear back from. I also had a CT/MRI done and it showed no trigeminal nerve compression.
My question is do you think the lymph nodes that swelled caused trauma to the nerve and it's just a slow healing process? If not, what are your thoughts?
By the way, I'm a 31-year-old male who eats healthy and workouts almost every day which is why this scares me. I feel like I'm in the best shape in my life, but I do understand that life is not fair sometimes. Thank you.
