i'v had one miscarage, disc degeneration with bilateral neural compromise

i have  disc degeneration with bilateral neural compromise and a month ago i got a facet joint injection and epidural injection to help with my problem....
before the facet joint and epidural injections i use to have pain in my legs and back now after the treatment i have less pain in my legs but the pain in my back is worse and  behind my hips hurt too, is this normal?
3 days after treatment i started to get hot flushes and dissy spells and my doctor took a blood sample and said my white blood cells were high and i had an infection, was this infection in my back? or would the white blood cells go up anyway because of the injections??

It would depend on what's causing your discomfort.

Facet joint and epidural injections do not help every case of back pain.  An MRI can be considered to see if there is an element of spinal stenosis or disk herniation.  In the case of the latter cause, surgical options can be considered if the pain persists despite the injections.

As for the elevated WBC, I can't comment on where the infection might be without evaluation.  With the injections, it's certainly possible that an infection can arise from them.

Otherwise, tests guided by your personal physician should be considered, including, imaging scans as well as blood culture.

The WBCs should not rise solely because of the injections.
